LINTHICUM, MD, October 13, 2020— NFM Lending is proud to donate 125 laptops to the Greater Baltimore Urban League (GBUL) to support underprivileged students in Baltimore City and Baltimore County during the COVID-19 pandemic. For every dollar that employees contributed to the cause, NFM made a matching donation.

Due to safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, schools in Maryland and across the country are implementing distance learning this year. Unfortunately, many school-aged children in the Baltimore area have no means to virtually connect to their classes. The laptops will help bridge the digital divide that disproportionately affects low-income and minority communities.

“We are presented opportunities to give in our lifetime, but none are more important than providing a gift to a child in need,” said Madison Grey, Human Resources Director. “COVID-19 has claimed many lives; we cannot allow it to harm our children’s future too. The NFM Lending Family is proud to partner with Greater Baltimore Urban League to provide laptops for underserved students. We want to be part of the solution for the educational gap that is pervasive in these communities by empowering our youths to overcome economic inequity. LINTHICUM, MD, March 23, 2020—NFM Lending is proud to sponsor the Ronald McDonald House Charities Maryland’s (RMHCMD) 9^th annual Red Shoe Shuffle 5k Run and Walk. The event will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2020. This will be the ninth year in a row that NFM Lending has sponsored and participated in this incredible event.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities Maryland is an organization that provides a cost-free ‘home away from home’ for seriously ill children and their families while undergoing treatment. They also work with and help fund programs in the local area that directly improve the well-being of children. Since 1982, the RMHCMD has housed more than 40,000 families from around the world. Money raised from events like the Red Shoe Shuffle has provided RMHCMD the means to build a larger facility to increase the number of families they are able to house. The building opened last spring. They anticipate that more than 2,400 families will come through their doors every year.

NFM Lending is committed to giving back to the communities they live and work in, and the RMHCMD is one of the key charities they support. Participating in the Red Shoe Shuffle is a great way to meet the families and show their support.

From December 6^th to December 17^th, NFM Lending collected toys to assist under privileged families during the holidays. From August 5^th to August 23^rd, NFM Lending collected school supplies to fill backpacks with pens, pencils, folders, markers and other tools that will prepare students in Baltimore County for a successful school year. LINTHICUM, MD, March 7, 2017— NFM Lending will sponsor the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore’s (RMHCB) 6^th annual Red Shoe Shuffle 5k Run and Walk. The event will take place on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Each year, a group of NFM Lending employees and their family members participate in the Shuffle, either as runners, or as volunteers. This will be NFM Lending’s sixth consecutive year sponsoring this event.
